How to Transition Your Routine Between Seasons
Switching your entire skincare routine overnight when the season changes often causes more irritation than gradually adapting — here's the correct way to shift between summer, monsoon, and winter routines.
Why Gradual Transition Matters
Changing cleanser, moisturiser texture, and active ingredient frequency all at once makes it difficult to identify what's causing any resulting irritation. A gradual, staged transition over 1-2 weeks lets skin adjust and makes troubleshooting far easier if something doesn't agree with your skin.
The Transition Order That Works Best
Week 1 — Adjust moisturiser first: This is the lowest-risk change. Shift from the Ceramide Gel to the Ceramide Cream (or vice versa) based on the season you're moving into.
Week 2 — Adjust cleanser if needed: Only switch from the Salicylic Acid Cleanser to the Oat Extract Cleanser (or back) if your skin's oil production has genuinely changed with the season — not automatically by calendar date.
Ongoing — Active ingredients stay consistent: Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Retinol, and Kojic Acid don't need seasonal pausing. Continue these through the transition; only the supporting cleanser and moisturiser typically need adjustment.
Watch Skin, Not the Calendar
Regional climate variation across Pakistan means the "right" time to transition differs by city and even by year. Base your transition timing on how skin actually feels — increased oiliness, tightness, or flaking are the real signals, more reliable than a fixed date.
Signs You've Transitioned Too Quickly
New irritation, breakouts in usually-clear areas, or persistent dryness that wasn't present before are signs the transition happened faster than skin could adjust. If this occurs, pause further changes and let skin stabilise for a week before continuing.
The One Constant Through Every Transition
SPF never changes with the season. Whatever else shifts in your routine, daily sunscreen stays exactly the same year-round.
