Not for facial use. This formula is concentrated for body skin's thicker texture. For facial acne and pigmentation, use the 2% Salicylic Acid Gel Cleanser or Face Wash instead.
SkinFactor's 7% AHA/BHA Exfoliating Body Wash is the only step in a body care routine that delivers clinical-strength chemical exfoliation at the shower step. Where regular body washes clean, this formula simultaneously exfoliates the skin surface with Glycolic Acid and clears pore blockages with Salicylic Acid ā addressing body acne, rough skin texture, strawberry legs, and uneven body tone in a single daily-use product.
Why body skin needs higher concentrations than facial skin:
The skin on the back, chest, upper arms, and legs is significantly thicker than facial skin and receives less regular exfoliation through daily routine and product use. The concentrations that produce results on the face ā 2% salicylic acid, 7% glycolic acid ā are at or near the lower effective threshold for body skin. At 7% combined AHA/BHA, this body wash operates at the concentration where visible improvement in body skin texture, pore clearing, and pigmentation fading occurs consistently with regular use.
Two acids. Two layers of exfoliation:
Glycolic Acid (AHA):
Works on the skin surface ā dissolving the bonds between dead skin cells and accelerating their shedding. For rough arm texture, the bumpy skin on the backs of arms (keratosis pilaris), uneven body tone from tanning or friction, and the dull appearance that accumulated dead cells produce on the body, glycolic acid delivers the surface renewal that regular body washes cannot achieve. With 60 seconds of contact time in the shower, it produces the smoothness and radiance that other cleansing products only claim.
Salicylic Acid (BHA):
Oil-soluble, penetrates through sebum into the follicle lining ā the same mechanism that makes it effective for facial acne, applied at body scale. For back acne, chest acne, and the shoulder breakouts that sweating, heat, and occlusive gym clothing accelerate in Pakistan's climate, salicylic acid at the body wash step provides twice-daily BHA treatment without requiring a separate leave-on product on large body surface areas.
What it treats ā specifically:
Back acne and body acne:
Pakistan's heat and humidity drive continuous sweat production. When sweat mixes with sebum and dead cells under clothing ā particularly gym wear and fitted clothing that occludes the back and chest ā it creates the environment where body acne flourishes. Salicylic acid penetrates the sebum-filled follicle to dissolve blockages from the inside; glycolic acid keeps the surface clear of the dead cell accumulation that compounds the problem.
Strawberry legs:
The dark spots that appear on legs after shaving or waxing ā caused by oxidised hair follicles and keratin buildup around follicle openings ā respond directly to AHA/BHA exfoliation. Glycolic acid dissolves the keratin buildup; salicylic acid keeps follicle openings clear of the dead cell congestion that causes the dark dot appearance. Consistent use three to four times per week produces visible improvement within two to three weeks.
Rough arm texture (keratosis pilaris):
The rough, bumpy texture on the backs of upper arms caused by keratin buildup around hair follicles ā extremely common across all skin types. Chemical exfoliation is the most effective available treatment for keratosis pilaris without a prescription. Glycolic acid dissolves the keratin deposits that physical scrubbing merely abrades.
Body tanning and uneven tone:
Accumulated dead skin cells darken the appearance of areas exposed to friction, sun, or heat. AHA exfoliation accelerates the shedding of these surface cells, revealing the lighter, more even skin underneath ā lightening tanning on arms, legs, and other exposed areas with consistent use.
Supporting ingredients:
Centella Asiatica calms the inflammation that body acne and active breakouts produce, supporting recovery while the acids treat the cause. Vitamin B5 (Panthenol) hydrates and supports the skin barrier during chemical exfoliation. Aloe Vera provides additional soothing and moisture retention throughout the shower step.
How to use correctly:
Apply to wet skin in the shower. Massage gently onto affected areas ā back, chest, upper arms, legs ā avoiding harsh scrubbing. Allow 30 to 60 seconds of contact time before rinsing. This contact time is essential ā rinsing immediately reduces the exfoliation benefit significantly. Use three to four times per week. Daily use is appropriate for established skin tolerance but begin at three times per week to allow skin to adjust.

STEP 1
Apply to wet skin in the shower.
STEP 2
Take a small amount and gently massage onto affected areas ā back, chest, upper arms, legs ā avoiding harsh scrubbing. Physical scrubbing on top of chemical exfoliation increases irritation without adding benefit.
STEP 3
Leave on for 30-60 seconds before rinsing. This contact time is essential ā rinsing immediately significantly reduces the exfoliation benefit.
STEP 4
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
STEP 5
On exposed areas like arms and legs, apply SPF before sun exposure. Both Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid increase sun sensitivity, and freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to UV damage.
When to Use: Start with three to four times per week to allow skin to adjust. Daily use is appropriate once tolerance is established. Preferably during your evening shower.
Common mistake to avoid: Starting with daily use immediately. This is a 7% combined AHA/BHA concentration ā significantly stronger than facial exfoliants due to body skin's thickness. Jumping straight to daily use before your skin adjusts causes the irritation, redness and peeling that leads most people to quit before seeing results.
A 7% combined AHA/BHA formula built specifically for body skin's thicker texture ā stronger than facial exfoliants, formulated for a different job.
Higher concentration addresses body skin's thicker texture.
Consistent use with proper contact time reduces body acne.
Glycolic and Salicylic Acid together clear follicles and reduce buildup.
| Timeframe | What Changes |
|---|---|
| Week 1-2 | Skin adjusting ā start 3-4x weekly, not daily. |
| Week 2-4 | Back and body breakouts begin clearing, ingrown hairs reducing. |
| Week 4-8 | Smoother overall texture with continued, consistent use. |
| What Affects Results | Always follow with the Ceramide Cream Moisturiser ā body exfoliation increases moisture loss more than facial products. |
