The skin concerns that affect your face affect your body too — often more severely, because the body's skin is thicker, more prone to friction-related pigmentation, and less likely to receive the active ingredient treatment that facial skin routines provide. Body acne, back acne, rough and bumpy arm texture, strawberry legs, hyperpigmented underarms, and dry patches on knees and elbows are all addressable with the same science-backed active ingredients that work on the face — just formulated for the thicker skin and larger surface area of the body.
The 7% AHA/BHA Exfoliating Body Wash is the core product in SkinFactor's body care range. It combines glycolic acid (AHA) for surface exfoliation with salicylic acid (BHA) for pore clearing at a 7% combined concentration — appropriate for body skin where facial concentrations are too mild to produce meaningful results. Used in the shower three to four times per week, it treats body acne by clearing pore blockages, smooths rough texture on arms and legs by accelerating dead cell shedding, and addresses the ingrown hairs that cause strawberry legs by keeping follicle openings clear.
Body pigmentation — darkened underarms, inner thighs, knees, and elbows caused by friction and recurring inflammation — responds to the same tyrosinase inhibition mechanism as facial pigmentation. SkinFactor's kojic acid cream applied consistently to hyperpigmented body areas works through the same pathway as facial dark spot treatment. See the Kojic Acid range for the cream formulation suited to body use.
For gym users and people dealing with sweat-related body acne, the AHA/BHA body wash is particularly effective — salicylic acid's oil-solubility means it can penetrate the sebum that occlusive gym clothing and heat-induced sweating concentrate on the back and chest, where body acne is most common in Pakistan's warm climate. See the full Acne Control range for how facial and body acne treatment can work in parallel.
Which Body Care Product Matches Your Concern?
| Concern | Product | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Back & body acne, ingrown hairs | AHA/BHA Body Wash | Rinse-off, 60-second contact |
| Facial exfoliation, texture | Glycolic Acid Toner | Leave-on |
| Dry, flaky skin — face or body | Ceramide Cream Moisturiser | Rich, occlusive |
New to body exfoliation? Start gradually — see the phased routine below.
Introducing Body Exfoliation — Phased by Week
Weeks 1-2:
- Three to four times weekly — this is a 7% combined AHA/BHA concentration, stronger than facial exfoliants
Week 3+:
- Daily use once tolerance is established
A Quick Clarification: Face vs Body Products in This Collection
This collection includes both dedicated body products and the Glycolic Acid Toner, which is a facial product grouped here because it shares the same AHA/BHA exfoliation category as the Body Wash — not because it's meant for body use. Applying facial-strength exfoliants to body skin, or body-strength formulas to the face, is a common mistake worth avoiding: body skin is meaningfully thicker and less reactive, which is exactly why the Body Wash is formulated at a higher 7% combined concentration than anything used on the face.
Body-Specific Bundles
| Bundle | What's Inside | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Glycolic Acid Toner Combo | Toner + Ceramide Moisturiser | Complete facial exfoliation routine with barrier support |
There is currently no dedicated bundle for the Body Wash alone — it pairs well with the Ceramide Cream Moisturiser as a standalone routine.
Body Care Results — What to Expect Week by Week
Week 1-2: Using the AHA/BHA Body Wash 3-4 times weekly. Skin adjusting to the exfoliation — mild initial dryness is normal if not paired with immediate moisturising.
Week 2-4: Back and body breakouts begin clearing. Ingrown hairs and strawberry-leg dark dots start visibly reducing as follicles clear.
Week 4-8: Smoother overall body texture with daily use (once tolerance is established). Continued fading of dark spots left by old body breakouts.
How to Pair Body Care Products
Mandatory pairing:
- Ceramide Cream Moisturiser after every Body Wash use — body exfoliation increases moisture loss more than facial products, and this step is not optional.
Use with caution:
- Never use the Body Wash and Glycolic Acid Toner in the same session, even though they're both AHA/BHA — one is body-strength, the other is face-strength, and combining them on overlapping skin (neck, chest) risks over-exfoliation.
Sun protection:
- SPF on any exposed, recently-exfoliated body area (arms, legs, chest) — freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to UV damage, the same principle that applies to facial exfoliants.
The Mandatory Rules
- Always moisturise immediately after — body exfoliation increases moisture loss more than facial products
- Never use facial-strength products on the body or vice versa — concentrations are calibrated differently
- SPF on exposed areas (arms, legs) after exfoliating
- Patch test if you have a known aspirin allergy
